Boise, ID (CBS2) — The Idaho Steelheads signed new defenseman Demetrios Koumontzis, bolstering its roster before the team heads into the playoffs next month.
Koumontzis, 22, from Scottsdale, Arizona is a 5' 11", 190 lb left-handed shot.
He graduated from Arizona State University where he played all five of his collegiate seasons. Koumontzis was Assistant Captain during his graduate season, scoring 18 points in 37 games. Throughout his college career, he scored 67 points in 142 career games.
In 2018, he was named a Minnesota Mr. Hockey Finalist after making 41 points at Edina High School.
He was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, 108th overall.
